Our Camp Programs
Every summer, Sans Souci operates a co-ed residential riding camp, for children aged eight to seventeen years, from June through August. The summer camp consists of four 11 day sessions. Campers come from around the world to spend part of their summer vacation learning the skills and improving their technique in classical horseback riding and horsemanship. Campers live, work and play around horses throughout their stay, receiving two hours a day of classical riding instruction in addition to two hours of practical horsemanship lessons through the care of their own horse. The limited enrolment of sixty-five campers per session creates a friendly, family atmosphere.
SPRING AND FALL WEEKEND CAMP
Sans Souci Riding Center operates a residential riding camp for children over 4 weekends from early May to the beginning of June and 4 weekends from early September to mid-October.
Campers arrive Friday evenings and depart Sunday afternoons. Transportation from one conveniently located pick-up point in Montreal is available. Enrolment is limited to 30 campers (girls 8-17yrs. and boys 11-15yrs.).
The weekend camp program is similar to the summer camp program, except that the horseback riding time is increased to between 3 to 4 hours per day. Also, campers are encouraged to do their homework during quiet study time provided in the dining room.
We feel that campers benefit throughout the week from their vigorous physical activities in the fresh air during the weekend. This is an intensive riding program that we offer and our record of attendance is high. Please register early to insure a place for your child.
Sans Souci Riding Centre Inc. is a certified member of Cheval Quebec’s Équi-Qualité program and, as such, is certified to offer the National Rider Level 1 through 6 rider exams. Keen riders who have the necessary skills and knowledge can register for the exams at anytime of the year.
